Every damn step

I had a meeting with Emily to discuss the best possible denim materials for the Dudley Blumesfields  slime standards(which are going to be sick) and denim chinos. I would like to keep everything domestic or american cone mill but the japanese do it the best……I guess you’ll just have to wait and see.

Shopping LA

I’ve been meaning to post this for a while but you all know how that goes when your consistently working all the time. This is the new Gap 1969 store which carries all their A+ denim pieces and more. The prices are cheap(you get what you pay for) and the location is great, you’ll be surprised of what they have to offer. So! If you’re looking for that perfect pair of inexpensive raw denim this is the place for you……..my gift to you.

Flea-market buys

Sunday morning flea-markets are the best for two reason; the people and of course the great shit you find each week. This gentlemen displays to you hand-made shoes from mexico in-which had no shoe size, tags or labels. He told me that rich persons in mexico would wear these to distinguish themselves. However if you weren’t so fortunate to sport a pair of these a person would wear sandals made from the same leather material. When I first glanced at this wonderful hand crafted pieces of art I thought…..”These are perfect for summer’” and with that currency was exchanged and into my duffel bag they rest. Building a closet full of interesting stories creates character in any mans lifestyle……”Substance within style.”

I’ll be working with Texas artist Carter on a few future projects which I’m extremely excited about.

The beer deck is classic, no one kid ride a 40 like “J Ugh.” I had to catch a snap shot of LiL Mikes Wood Wood Jesus piece(I’m so jealous) which at first was neatly tucked away in his shirt.

The Strength…..

The relationship between  model and photographer has always been an interesting one. Some how two different individuals must have the ability to pull greatness out of one another; almost like the perfect love hate relationship…for a day.  No matter the element or condition two people must mold into something so unique that time has no existence and the flicker of a flash can be the only object to correctly explain it. The human mind can bend any thing, make the biggest objects seem small, and depict images that where never there………

SOULS of Original

The underground bar scene has landed and it’s “Kinda Like A Big Deal.” Tray(far left) came to visit this past weekend and you all know I had to show him some Cali love. All the different types of cultures migrating to one location and sharing one common goal is exciting…to get their “drank” on. I love the brick walls and old candle stand  so I just had to grab a snap shot. Here’s two guys truly sticking to their culture in a very creative manner; Mr. Jay SouLA and Matthew McRenyolds . They traveled all the way from Long Beach to join the drinking festivities. I recently joined these two gentlemen for their collection showcasing in downtown Long Beach recently(at a ridiculously pure hip hop bar). We’ll be working together soon so don’t worry guys they can’t exclude you out.

Out-in-about on Robertson a few days ago I spotted a bed of colourful flowers that some how matched DeVons bright red pants(which I could never wear). The dark elements of his skin, blazer, tie, briefcase, boots, and umbrella seem to correspond to natures much-needed soil. His sprouting pocket square seem to be the perfect balance and symbolism of seed to full bloom. Substance within style is every thing……..

Fully Vintage

When you see some one and their style just screams “PAY ATTENTION” in a subtle manner your eye naturally picks it up. This JCrew kids designer from the east coast encompasses that all the way. I chatted with him for a few and to my surprise his pants that I adored were simply old Wal-Mart Carhart supply . Some thing about clothing that’s meant to be “lived” in attracts me like a fly to those blue  lanterns.
