Shopping LA

I’ve been meaning to post this for a while but you all know how that goes when your consistently working all the time. This is the new Gap 1969 store which carries all their A+ denim pieces and more. The prices are cheap(you get what you pay for) and the location is great, you’ll be surprised of what they have to offer. So! If you’re looking for that perfect pair of inexpensive raw denim this is the place for you……..my gift to you.

Understated

I’ve always loved this style of deck shoe; it’s the perfect combination of work and play.  Walking around town I constantly see older gentlemen sporting these with their clean-cut chinos. Rarely you’ll find me in a mall(too many people mixed with evil mass-produced products) but I had to stop take a gander. The Timberland brand are continuing to expand the brand and its consumers take on their own style. This shoe was reasonably priced and comes in three different leathers(sick), the gum bottom does it for me…….go timberland a true classic.

Only The Strong Will Survive

For once I was behind the wheel and the pavement was limitless. Cruising down the strip headed to the block whats left of it I as forced to illegally cut through two lanes and snap a picture of this. So many stores are beginning to pack it up and leave or just fall by the waste side; the retail world is in a blaze. I explained to my s.o.l.e loving friend Nsilo that it was I who predicted these short comings where dawning upon us. In my opinion this elongated recession is merely a weeding out process, “A Natural Selection.” To simplify the term by just saying brands that SUCK will DIE. As a community, the people will pay for what they believe in, and noting less. I found myself spending my last peanuts at a few hand-picked boutiques in the LA county(besides the beloved flea markets). We the taste makers, fashion lovers, and character filled fans/consumers what ever you’d like to call us have the final say. We hold the power within our hands to pick and choose what quality brands will stand the test of time or just rust up and whether away into the atmosphere. Think of every dollar you spend as a ballet, and where ever you spend there rest a vote placed by you.  So! theres only one question to be answered…………..True Religion or Sugar Cane?

South Willard

POP driven retailers scare me so my pure instincts searched out for that little piece of NY fashion. South Willard is my diamond in a rough, my savior to all evil Cali trendy shopping. Tucked away, South Willard is one of the cities best “Mens” retailers hands down and they do it subtle manner. Well crafted products which are manufactured in the US take that Japan and surprisingly designed out of Seattle Washington(UMI says). Along with strong in-house designs the boutique also carries little known brands such as Band Of Outsiders, Dries Van Noten, Pierre Hardy, and Patrik Ervell…..just some small designers and things like that. Best of all the 14oz straight and narrow denim pant which are made in Okayama Japan(shout out my denim heads) are something to see. I like to be honest with you guys so I’ll be blunt for secound….the design isn’t the best and the denim has been washed once so they kill it for us break’em in guys like myself, but all in all good shit. Despite that little denim drama South Willard is great store and I’m waiting to hear its name mentioned more frequently around city.
